This week is Perinatal Mental Health Week and the theme for 2023 is ‘Connection through conversation’. PANDA created Perinatal Mental Health Week to help the community and health professionals to better understand perinatal mental health. To achieve positive outcomes for infants and families, it’s important that support is available which meets the needs of all expecting and new parents during the perinatal period.
Check out our resources including our webinar with Child Family Community Australia (CFCA) about supporting fathers’ mental health during the perinatal period, our podcast episode with parents Sarah and Claudius on navigating the first year of parenting, and our Emerging Minds Families video, What is a perinatal and infant psychiatrist? This video is from the Practitioners speak series designed to help families understand the role of a practitioner and what to expect from these visits. In this video, perinatal and infant psychiatrist Ros shares how her role can support pregnant and new parents who may be struggling with the transition to parenthood.
