This fortnight, we’re very excited to launch a brand new suite of evidence-informed resources for parents, perfect for sharing with the families you work with – Understanding and supporting children’s mental health!
The collection of resources includes animations, fact sheets, videos and podcasts. Together they offer accessible, practical information about what children’s mental health is, what shapes it, how to support it and what to look out for if a child might need some extra support.
Developed in collaboration with families and practitioners, the suite is an important tool for parents and professionals alike. It provides a comprehensive set of resources for you to share with the families you see in your daily practice.
These resources aim to strengthen families’ knowledge and confidence in talking about children’s mental health with practitioners and educators by offering a shared language and understanding of key child mental health concepts.
We can’t prevent children from experiencing stresses and difficulties, but we can support parents to provide warm, consistent parenting to help children thrive.
By working together to build parents’ understanding of children’s mental health and how to nurture it, we can support better outcomes for children and families now and into the future.
